About the role
Our client is a Barcelona-based digital company that builds digital products for large international corporations. Its agile, multidisciplinary teams own the full lifecycle of each product and work as strategic partners to the businesses they serve, not just as a delivery team.
About the role
We are looking for a Squad Technical Lead (STL) to lead an engineering squad, make sure the technical quality is where it should be and drive solutions that actually move the business forward.
The squad builds features for a B2C loyalty programme in the health and retail pharmacy sectors: consumer-facing products, with web and native mobile apps, used in several countries.
You will work hand in hand with the Product Owner. They own what gets built and why; you own how it gets built, with what quality and at what pace, and you make sure the team is on board with the decisions you take together.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of high-quality software that is built to last.
- Make joint decisions with the Product Owner and get the team's buy-in.
- Organise the squad's work so deadlines are met and standards are kept.
- Keep productivity high while respecting product requirements and quality, and mature the team's processes over time.
- Act as the link with other teams, keeping information flowing and avoiding misunderstandings.
- Coach and mentor the engineers in the squad.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Tech Lead or in a similar leadership role.
- Ability to analyse complex technical problems and drive solutions that work.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, and a genuine interest in helping engineers grow.
- Experience with agile methodologies in fast-paced environments.
- Solid understanding of software architecture, cloud computing and microservices.
- Clear, effective communication.
Nice to have
- Hands-on background in .NET.
- Experience operating Azure.
- Experience with native mobile applications (iOS and Android).
- Knowledge of containers and Kubernetes.
What we offer
- Competitive salary
- Meal allowance
- Private health insurance
- Hybrid working and flexible hours
- Summer intensive schedule
- 24 days of holiday per year
- Office in central Barcelona
